Homestead offers a broad range of services, from raising and supplying animals to commercial establishments, all the way down to selling prime cuts of meat directly to consumers in our retail shop. We also sell half and whole hogs and cows, which is a great way to save money over the long term while supplying your family with plenty of delicious meals.
All of our processing is done through Sylvester Quality Meats, a USDA-approved butcher shop. They are a local, family-owned business like us and are just as committed to the quality of our products as we are.
Whole or half hogs and cows can be purchased through us. Simply contact us and let us know what you would like. We will then put you in touch with Sylvester regarding the specific cuts of meat you would like for your order. The process takes between 6 and 8 weeks from start to finish and requires a $250 non-refundable deposit. The current price for both beef and pork is $4.00 per pound, based on the hanging weight of the animal. This fee includes all processing and delivery charges (to and from the processor), and all of your meat will be vacuum-sealed, labeled, and ready for pickup at our farm when the process is complete.
If you don’t need that much meat but still want to purchase from us, we would be happy to provide you with products from our retail shop. Just contact us to let us know what you would like and when you would like to pick it up. We don’t keep regular hours at the retail shop but will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
